The Art

Ogoh-Ogoh, A celebration on The Night Before Silent Day/Nyepi.

Ogoh-ogoh is a sculptural artwork that has become an important part of the tradition of welcoming Nyepi Day. Created by the Balinese people, each village must make one to be paraded the night before Nyepi Day. This is not just an ordinary parade; it carries deep meaning. Ogoh-ogoh inspires us to cleanse the darker aspects of our nature while advocating for the protection of our planet and its resources. It emphasises the vital importance of sustainability and encourages actions that safeguard the environment.
