
Melasti
Melasti is a Balinese Hindu ceremony that has meaning as self-cleansing with water of life (tirta amerta) that refers to water from seas or rivers. In Hindu belief, water of life is believed to purify oneself physically, mentally, and from all bad deeds in the past, so that these bad deeds are washed away with the water. Melasti is held around 3 or 4 days before Nyepi day.
